. CHAMBERS . Clan MacDonald is the main source of the Chambers in County Down. Interesting is the Y-DNA project for the Clan that shows the haplotype for the descendents of the Clan Chiefs to be R1a1a, a Viking haplotype. The DNA projects for Clan Cameron, Chambers in America, Clan Fraser, the Chamberlains all are haplotype R1b with "I1" for the Viking descendents.I'm a Chambers whose family came from County Mayo. Before that, the family only knows that they came from the North. I took a Y-DNA test and got R1a1a results. I think that confirms the Scottish Argylles Viking roots. I'm hoping some Chambers from County Down also take the test. timothychambers ' at ' yahoo.com

All his records suggest he was Protestant. Assuming he followed traditional naming patterns with his children - his father might be John Cosgrove and his mother Martha. My great-grandfather was James Fee (b. 19 April 1848; d. 5 June 1926) from Ballymacilreiny who married Sarah Jane Spiers on 1 March 1871 in Drumgooland Parish Church. At some stage they moved to Dromara. From my research I learned that James had eight siblings. They were Samuel, Jane (who married James Bradford), Robert, Hannah (who married Thomas Redmond), Joseph, Robert, Thomas and John. Their father may have been called Samuel Fee (b. abt 1816) and their mother may have been called Mary (b. abt 1816). Is any of this familiar to anyone?

James and his wife and sons returned to Northern Ireland (I have no idea where).
Francis married Emily Waldron in 1902; their only child, Theresa, was born in 1902.
Theresa married William Rowe and they had 2 daughters, Florence, and Nancy (my mother).

Eliza Catherine FITZSIMMONS Bright All I know is what I found in a news article on her husbands death - which states he visited his bro-in-law in Downpatrick, Dr. Fitzsimon the night of his attack. It also states he was a highly respectable family and married to the daughter of a farmer of comfortable circumstances named Fitzsimon. His attack occurred on December 26, 1842 and he died Jan. 6 1843. He had a son named Alexander born in July of 1843. I believe they might have been married in Belfast. sheribethard ' at ' yahoo.com
