Ballykinler old Catholic on the site of the present Tyrella Church of Ireland; in 1800 Rev. Mr. Hamilton removed the old stones to build Tyrella House and the remainder of the stones were removed when the Church of Ireland was built in 1839. The walls were undressed stone cemented with lime mortar. Two holy water stoups of freestone were found in the debris and many human bones were found O'L V1 p 129,130
